DAILY HAPPINESS TIP #66- Avoid Self-Defeating Thoughts and Attitudes

"The only disability in life is a bad attitude." -Scott Hamilton
How many times have you told yourself "I cannot pass that exam", "I am doomed to live a life full of misery", "I'm stuck in this dead end job", or "Today is gonna be boring" and more-or-less got what you predicted?  You didn't want it...in fact you fear getting negative results, such that you cannot stop thinking and worrying about it!

These judgments may or may not be congruent to reality, but focusing on what cannot be achieved and other negative outcomes can invite a defeatist attitude in us. This then is where the battle is already lost, as the first step to achieving success is creating it in one's mind first. If one can imagine how it can be done, then it has a good chance of becoming a reality. However, if it can't even be formulated in the mind, success is impossible.  Thoughts are so powerful.  Therefore, be careful what you think about.

"Every thought is a seed. If you plant crab apples, don't count on harvesting Golden Delicious." -Bill Meyer
"The greatest discovery of my generation is that a human being can alter his life by altering his attitudes." -William James
