Disappointment, even anger, is what we get when results, people, or life in general do not come out the way we expect them to be. Therefore, don’t set your expectations too high.
“High achievement always takes place in the framework of high expectation.”
-Charles F. Kettering
But how would we know what is high enough to still achieve what we can be and make our lives and the world better? The key is to know more about yourself, your partner, those that you interact with as well as the workings of the world, and balance your expectations to them. This means you should not idealize. The more accurate your understanding, the better expectations are set. When you fall from this balancing act between expectations and reality, be forgiving, learn and just take it one day at a time. This way we can make the world better and still be happy and contented while doing it.
