DAILY HAPPINESS TIP #65- See Mistakes as Paths to Learning

"Mistakes are part of the dues one pays for a full life." -Sophia Loren

Making mistakes is not something to be ashamed of. It is in not learning from them that is truly shameful. For what it is is just a course-correcting feedback mechanism that is valuable to achieve success in any undertaking. So wear your mistakes like a badge of honor for those without them have done nothing worthwhile to claim that they have truly lived...they might as well not existed at all.

"There are no mistakes. The events we bring upon ourselves, no matter how unpleasant, are necessary in order to learn what we need to learn; whatever steps we take, they're necessary to reach the places we've chosen to go." -Richard Bach

DAILY HAPPINESS TIP #17- Always Forgive and Learn From Mistakes

“The stupid neither forgive nor forget; the naive forgive and forget; the wise forgive but do not forget.” -Thomas S. Szasz

Forgiveness frees us from someone else’s control.  By forgiving, we allow ourselves to grow and be happy because anger and ill-feelings are blinds that prevent us from learning fully from the experience.  Therefore, forgiveness is a prerequisite to wisdom…a requirement for a happy, healthy living.

“Anger makes you smaller, while forgiveness forces you to grow beyond what you were.”  -Cherie Carter-Scott

DAILY HAPPINESS TIP #15- Never Regret Decisions You Have Made

“When one door closes, another opens; but we often look so long and so regretfully upon the closed door that we do not see the one which has opened for us.”-Alexander Graham Bell

Making decisions is an integral part of life…a hallmark of being human. Some may even argue that at times making a wrong decision is better than having no decision at all for life does not wait for anyone and the earth doesn’t stop turning.

Therefore, whether it was given much thought or just a spur of the moment choice, a decision made is a decision made and one must not wallow in regrets about the outcome. If it turns out well, then wonderful! If not, then acknowledge and learn from it. Decisions made belong to the past, which cannot be changed so regretfulness is pointless.

“Forget regret, or life is yours to miss.” -Jonathan Larson
